Associate Adjunct in Psychology

Job Description

The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for an Associate Adjunct in Psychology. The Department is looking for an experienced instructor who can teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in our department and in both in-person and virtual modalities.

This is a part-time, ten-month, teaching-focused position beginning in August 2023 with a current teaching load of up to 21 credit hours yearly.

The successful candidate should have a documented history of effective teaching of psychology courses at the university level. The Associate Adjunct in Psychology will teach clinically-foucsed courses in our graduate program as well as undergraduate courses based on need and candidate expertise.

A Ph.D or Psy.D. in Psychology is required with a preference for a candidate with a doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology.

Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of appointment is required.

Responsibilities - Associate Adjunct in Psychology

• Delivers courses with clear outcomes; meaningful assignments; and transparent, timely assessment that will be offered in traditional, hybrid, and/or online formats
• Models effective teaching and professionalism
• Manages inclusive, responsive learning environments
• Attends and participates collaboratively in department and faculty meetings
• Remains flexible and responsive in teaching and conducts office hours weekly, even if through electronic means, as posted in the course for students

Qualifications - Associate Adjunct in Psychology

• A Ph.D or Psy.D in Psychology is required, candidates with a doctoral degree in Clinical Counseling or School Psychology preferred
• College teaching experience required
• Experience with distance education techniques and delivery preferred
• Experience working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process
• Documented background relative to specific subjects being taught
