Job Description Summary:
This is a part-time, 0.5 FTE and benefits eligible position. The selected physician will join the KUSM-W Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology as a clinical faculty member, in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The Department has a fully accredited residency program with 20 residents, and regularly has a new medical student clerkship rotating every eight weeks. This position will provide support to the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and will be accountable to the Department Chair in fulfilling the research, educational, and clinical mission and values of the Department.
Job Description: Required Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. Degree
Eligible for or currently has a Kansas medical license
Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or Active candidate for American Board Obstetrics & Gynecology certification
Fellowship trained in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from an ACGME accredited program
Board-certified or Active candidate for American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in medical education (teaching medical students or residents)
Description of Job Duty:
Provide ambulatory care up to 8 half days per week (either on or off campus) with or without resident/student supervision.
Assist the Residency Program Director(s) to provide an educational experience that will enable resident physicians to obtain the knowledge, skill and attitudes necessary to practice obstetrics and gynecology (specifically, in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) independently and competently in the provision of health care to women.
Teach faculty, residents, and medical students by giving lectures as assigned by the Division Director.
Provide regular attendance and presentations at student and resident teaching conferences.
Complete evaluations of residents and medical students as requested by the Department Chair, Residency Program Director, and Clerkship Director.
Serve on academic, department, and hospital committees as requested by the Department Chair and Division Director.
Be an example of an academic clinician by supporting/conducting clinical research in the Division. Support the other scholarly activities of the School.
Marginal Duties
Guide and assist the house staff and students in preparing talks for meetings, in writing publications, and in conducting and presenting the results from research projects.
