Job Description Summary:
Perform a variety of immunology, microbiology, and virology experiments with involvement in ongoing experiments. Serve as Lab Manager, in charge of lab operation and maintenance. Prepare and monitor budgets, order lab supplies and services and prepare and keep laboratory data.

Required Qualifications:
Education : Master's degree in life science or Bachelor's degree in life science with 5 years of professional.
Skills : Knowledge of computer software for database construction and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Work Experience : Lab experience including a good publication record.
Skills : Strong computer skills.

Job Duties Outlined:
Serve as Lab Manager in charge of daily operations of the laboratory. Prepare and monitor project budgets, including those needed for grant applications, purchase supplies and services.

Perform a wide variety of specialized and advanced molecular biology techniques such as gene cloning, quantitative PCR, and familiar with conditional and non-conditional cre/loxP mouse transgenesis technology. Experience in small animal handling, various immunological in vivo and in vitro techniques, and tissue culture is highly preferred.

Assume laboratory safety management, maintain the radiation survey on the Safety Office data base for the Lab's radioactivity license. Ensure all lab personnel handle radioactive materials correctly and work with the Safety Office in monitoring use of radioactive and other hazardous materials.
Utilize database software in database construction and maintenance. Enter research data in computer databases and appropriate worksheets. Provide reports and other data for publications and presentations.
Train and assist postdocs and students in basic techniques in molecular biology and virology, laboratory procedures and maintenance.
