Position Overview
Driving university vehicles for the Geology 556 field trip summer session. Responsible for helping load and unload vehicles, and ensuring that they are properly fueled during the class. Drivers will also pick up, clean, and drop off vehicles at KU Motorpool before and after the trip. Responsible for keeping water coolers full and may be asked to assist with camp set up and break down.
Job Description
Drivers for Geology 556 field trip summer session. Traveling is required on the following dates from: 07/14/23-07/23/23. Daily driving as required by supervisor/instructor. Locations will be in Kansas and Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled as a student in Geology 556.

Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Able to drive safely under a variety of circumstances, (i.e. at night, in traffic, in mountains), and for extended periods of time.

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Include a statement of your driving record, with any moving violations over the past 5 years. Only complete applications will be considered. Students will be paid a flat rate of $500 per class and to not clock in or out for this temporary position.
