Position Overview
Technology Assistants are the first point of contact for patrons using the Open Language Resource Center.
Job Description
100% of the job duties for the Technology Assistants include: various office/clerical duties, including answering the phone, responding to emails, and other general tasks. They enter new resources into our online catalog, place items on reserve, and check items in and out using our circulation system. They assist patrons with the use of our instructional spaces, which include a computer lab and two active learning classrooms. They also assist with multimedia projects that may require the editing of digital audio and video and the creation of interactive web content.
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively in English as evidenced by application materials and in-person interview.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work morning hours
Knowledge of languages other than English
Experience with multimedia software (e.g. Photoshop, iMovie, Dreamweaver, Audacity)
Experience with library software for accessioning items, checking items in and out.

Advertised Salary Range

Work Schedule
During the academic year assistants will work 10-20 hours per week between 7:50 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays. Schedule to be determined in consultation with supervisor.
