Job Summary
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment department of Plant & Soil Sciences is seeking a Scientist I for an exciting full-time, two-year field position in Western Kentucky. The successful candidate will perform field and office tasks under the direction of a Kentucky Geological Survey hydrogeologist and will be stationed in the newly renovated University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY. The successful candidate will have the field experience, training and/or education & mechanical skills necessary to collect runoff quantity data, precipitation data and surface runoff water quality samples; operate and maintain precipitation, water quality & quantity sampling equipment, operate four-wheel drive trucks, all-terrain vehicles; develop weekly reports; able to lift up to 50 pounds; have a valid driver’s license; and be a team player. Candidate must have the ability to problem solve and be self-motivated. Specific skills/needs of the job will be taught on site. Some overnight travel will be required.

Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer BS of Science with 2 years field experience (farm background, geology or forestry field course, internship or outdoor field education experience, etc.)
