Position Title: College of Sciences: Assistant Dean

Responsibilities:
Handle registration issues including, but not limited to, late schedule adjustments, overrides, drop cards, change of majors and minors, resignations and suspension appeals. Back-up signatory for most purchase requisitions, LaCarte charges and travel requests. Handle degree audits and NCAA degree certification for students in the College. Monitor enrollments, class schedules and schedule changes. Representative on committees focused on undergraduate issues as appointed by the Dean. Collaboration with the Dean on issues involving adjunct and regular faculty in the College is expected. The Assistant Dean will also be a representative of the College at various University-sponsored activities for potential students, will be the coordinator of the advisors and scholarships for the College, will deal with freshman orientation concerns, and will coordinate the commencement ceremony for the College.
Qualifications:
MS or Ph.D. degree in any field within the College of Sciences is required. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate with administration, faculty, staff and students. Preference will be given to those applicants who possess strong organizational skills, are able to interpret budgetary items and data collection by the College, have held a previous academic position, and can mediate between students, faculty and administration.
