The University of Louisiana Monroe's Office of Marketing and Communications is seeking a Digital Media Specialist who is, primarily, skilled at shooting and editing compelling video footage and, secondarily, comfortable with photography. His or her work will be conceptually impactful in its presentation of the University, from campus scenes to academics and student life. The Digital Media Specialist will work closely with the Creative Director and Digital Media Editor to execute concepts through to completion.
Working on assignments with the creative team and in a self-motivated capacity, the Digital Media Specialist will oversee all facets of branded video production, including concept and story development, shooting video and sound, editing/post-production, and maintaining our video archive. The range of work includes 30-seconds spots to more in-depth videos of 2-3 minutes in support of the highest strategic marketing efforts of the University. This position will also assist the Digital Media Editor in photo shoots and managing the digital archival of images.
Transports, sets up, and operates various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production
Collects b-roll footage of campus as well as interviews
Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment
Maintains the University's YouTube and Vimeo accounts
Continually researches the latest technology and marketing trends
Periodically updates ULM's webpages with fresh video content
Expect to transport heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds)
Consistently meets deadlines
Effectively manages multiple projects and tasks at once
Performs all duties in full support of the University's brand
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, digital media, journalism or related field. Three years of experience in videography can replace this qualification
Craftsmanship in video storytelling, proficiency in shooting video and photography with DSLR and/or other camera as well as lighting and audio techniques; examples of projects required for interview
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud software
Knowledge of wide range of social media outlets
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
