Do you have a passion for sharing the academic experience a university has to offer with prospective students and their families? If so, the University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for two Admissions Counselor II positions.

Admissions Counselors educates first-year, adult, transfer, and graduate students, as well as parents/family members, and school counselors, about the University of Southern Maine and the college selection, application, and admissions process. This position does require extensive travel and requires extended hours including evenings and weekends, during various time periods.

We are seeking Admissions Counselors who will service the following areas:

  • assigned territories in New York, Connecticut, and the Southern region of the United States.
  • assigned territories in New Hampshire, Vermont, and key feeder high schools in Maine.

These are full-time positions with an annual salary of up to $42,450. The schedule for this position is flexible, based primarily during business hours, and requires evening and weekend on-call responsibilities. One position will be based on our Gorham Campus and the other on our Portland Campus. Travel to other USM campuses in Portland or Lewiston-Auburn may be required, as well as other travel stated in the job description.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with one-year previous work experience in college admissions
  • Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver’s license with proper insurance compliant with Maine requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy loads.
