USER INTERFACE DESIGNER

CGEOSINT (Center Geospatial Intelligence)

Development of a variety of data-driven, interactive web-based user interfaces and web-based software applications for a variety of grant and contract funded projects. Web user interface design and programming in JavaScript, HTML5, Vue, and CSS. Web software application development and programming in the JavaScript/NodeJS and a PostgreSQL backend database. Meetings and coordination with other technical research staff. Supervision of part-time undergraduate student workers. Writing documentation for all the web-based interfaces and software applications.

$16.92 to $35.28 per hour, based on training and experience

8-5; Monday - Friday

• Be able to demonstrate the following expertise:
• Strong JavaScript skills (1-2 years experience minimum)
• A basic understanding of software design and best practices
• Experience with version control systems, preferably git
• Basic experience with HTML and CSS
• Some familiarity with a modern frontend frameworks
• Ability to work in a team environment with a willingness to learn and take initiative to tackle problems independently or collaborate with others as required
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
• Good written and face-to-face communication skills

Be able to demonstrate experience with the following:

• Basic dev-ops experience beneficial, docker/docker-compose, bash scripting, etc.
• Nodejs experience preferable
• Experience with project management software
• Vue.js frontend framework experience valuable, but not required
• Experience writing automated tests not required, but preferred
• Familiarity with agile-like development environment
