History Instructor - Temp Parttime Faculty - req# 28440

Position Summary

UNM-Taos’ Humanities Department invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for Temporary Part time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach a lower division course in History. These positions will be hired on an as needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. The specific courses include, but are not limited to, the following:

Salary ranges from $902.38,to $1,002.70 per credit hourdepending on successful candidates’ qualifications. Thisposting is for both face to face and remote delivery of courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield in which they are applying to teach. Applicant must have completed a program of study in the discipline or subfield in which they teach, with coursework at least one level above that of the courses being taught or developed (e.g., completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree).
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly community college experience.
• Ability to teach the foundational literacy progression in an adult setting.
• Experience with learner centered instructional practices.
• Knowledge of trauma informed and brain-based pedagogy
• Experience differentiating instruction for a multi-level classroom
• Demonstrated experience in remote delivery of instruction.
• Successful experience in practice or field work (if applicable).
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
