Position Summary | UNM Taos invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for a position as an Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Summer 2022 Semester in the Department of Nursing to teach and/or develop Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Lower Division Courses (100-200 Level). Anticipated opening includes the following subject and course:
Faculty will be an integral part of a team approach to teaching with an IET instructional modality (Integrative Education and Training Model) and possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse/advanced practice nurse in New Mexico, or relevant compact licensure. Candidate will be able to use the technology platforms at the university to enhance and deliver course work. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Director of Nursing. | ||
Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways: · Degree in the discipline or subfield; or · Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield; or/and · Teach or develop courses in nurse aide training is governed by CFR 42 §483.152: · Registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience · Must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience teaching adults or supervising nurse aides · Current unencumbered New Mexico registered nurse license Preferred Qualifications 1. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution 2. Successful teaching in a community college 3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. | ||
