Work Schedule	Security team start/stop times vary within the , and can accommodate a wide range of individual availability, including weekends and night/swing/day shifts.

Minimum Experience/Education	High school diploma or equivalent.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:	Completion of an accredited police academy or prior law enforcement experience.
Duties and Responsibilities	Patrols and monitors the facility for situations that might endanger the safety and security of patrons, collections, and equipment. Maintains ongoing competency with security alarms, fire panels, video surveillance, alarm monitoring system, and door alarms. Reports daily to Library Security Coordinator on security-related issues and maintains logs of shift activities as well as "Lost and Found". Uses email, phone and radio communications between Library Security Office and Campus Police. Initiates emergency procedures when appropriate and assists with the implementation of these procedures as instructed. Stays current on methods/practices, knowledge, and skills in all job competencies.
