Applicants should possess an earned doctorate in English Education (or a closely related field) at time of appointment, along with evidence of successful teaching, evidence of scholarship, and commitment to university service. Candidates should hold current secondary teaching licensure, should have at least two years' teaching experience in public secondary or middle schools, and should be eligible for NC public school teaching licensure in Secondary English (9-12) and Middle Grades Language Arts (6-9).

Job Description
The Department of English, Theatre, and World Languages at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English/English Education position to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English Education, supervise student teachers, and teach courses in the general education program.

Management Preference
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in 1) teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: English Language Arts curriculum and methods, Young Adult literature, and English Education research methods; 2) advising English Education majors and supervising their field experiences; and 3) developing and maintaining ongoing partnerships with local school districts.

Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
Eligible for NC public school teaching licensure in Secondary English (9-12) and Middle Grades Language Arts (6-9).
