The University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio, is a private, not-for-profit teaching university with a diverse population of approximately 3,000 students. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, along with other specialized accreditors. We offer AAS, AAB, BS, and MBA degrees in unique programs for specialized careers.

Duties & Responsibilities
The individual will have primary instructional responsibilities teaching various courses in Health Information Technology at the associate degree level at our campus in Lima, Ohio. Courses include Health Information Systems, Legal and Ethical Aspects of HIT, Electronic Health Records, and Management of Health Information Systems. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM).
Courses taught on campus meet for 1.5-hour sessions throughout the day, as well as online courses. UNOH courses run on a quarterly basis throughout the entire year. Classes meet either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday.
Full-time instructors teach 15 credit hours per quarter. Faculty participate in faculty meetings and advise students within the program. In addition to teaching excellence, faculty members are evaluated based on service to the community, service to the university, and professional/ scholarly activity.

Qualifications
Minimum:
Current RHIT or RHIA certification
Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics Preferred:
Previous teaching experience
Additional AHIMA certifications
Candidates with higher degrees and online teaching experience at the post-secondary level will be considered.
