The Program Manager for Academic Initiatives is a key contributor to the success of efforts led by the Vice President and Associate Provost for Academic Space and Support and the Vice President and Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning. The Program Manager role also includes planning and executing conferences and events sponsored by the Provost.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage data and projects on behalf of assigned Vice Presidents, contribute to the editing and distribution of reports, and facilitate the work of key committees.
- Compile and organize research and benchmarking related to space, teaching, and learning initiatives.
- Drive best practices to execute the operational needs for the Vice President and Associate Provost for Academic Space and Support and the Vice President and Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Provost's office on the development and presentation of reports, websites, and related materials.
- Provide budget tracking and manage expenses; handle project timelines; and manage data and calendars in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Liaise with colleagues in partner offices to ensure the highest possible standards of planning and execution for initiatives led by the assigned Vice Presidents and Associate Provosts. Partners include but are not limited to Facilities, Design and Operations; Notre Dame Learning; Office of the Registrar; and University Archives.
- With the guidance of the Provost's Special Assistant and other members of the office as assigned, serve as the principal event planner and coordinator for events hosted by the Provost. Duties include vetting potential venues and vendors, planning meetings, meals, and supporting the success of the Provost's Office constituent engagement strategy.
- Staff the Academic Program Review program, with responsibility for travel and all other arrangements for each review team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Physical requirements: In-person position, presence at events on weekends and evenings required from time to time.
Education: Bachelors degree (4 years)
Must be strategic, highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in prioritizing tasks. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced office, on a variety of projects, with multiple team members. Must possess strong organizational skills with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have experience contributing to a team along with the ability to identify and solve problems and inefficiencies. Ability to maintain confidentiality is imperative. On-campus work location.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 5 to 6 years
