The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Associate Director, Law and Graduate Business Annual Giving.

A key member of the Annual Giving team at one of the nation's leading universities, the Associate Director will oversee the Graduate Business and Law School's giving societies. The person in this role will be in charge of setting the strategy and executing the action plans to meet the department and school's unrestricted giving goals. They will ensure the next generation of Notre Dame lawyers and business leaders can answer the call to a Notre Dame education without financial burden.
A successful candidate will make the Law and Business societies more unique and attractive for their members and drive membership and dollar growth in the following areas: new donor recruitment, member renewal rates, and member upgrades.
Additionally, the Associate Director will be in charge of driving effective and differentiated strategies for the three segments within each giving society: fund level, giving society level, and premier level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Optimize experiences associated with membership in the Order of St. Thomas More and the Law Dean's Leadership Circle, the giving societies for the Notre Dame Law School, and the O'Hara Society and the Business Dean's Leadership Circle, the giving societies for the Mendoza College of Business.
  • Renew and upgrade Order of St. Thomas More and O'Hara Society donors through our seven annual renewal campaigns.
  • Create print and digital marketing and promotional materials such as impact reports, information sheets, and quarterly reports.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information from various sources to identify new areas of growth for the Order of St. Thomas More and O'Hara Society, especially as it pertains to upgrading Graduate Business Fund and Law School Annual Fund donors.
    • As a part of this, execute annual recruitment campaigns for new benefactors.



  • Establish relationships with internal partners to drive giving to law and graduate business priorities.
  • Partner with Academic Advancement Directors and Alumni Directors in the Law School and the Mendoza College of Business to ensure coordination with broader relationships and fundraising strategies.
  • Host premier events for members of the Law Dean's Leadership Circle and the Business Dean's Leadership Circle.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate updates to senior leadership.
  • Collect stories and produce storytelling materials to communicate the impact of giving through the website, newsletters, social media, and other platforms.

COMPETENCIES
  • Communication Skills - Communicating with people outside the organization, representing Notre Dame in a way that aligns with our mission to current and potential benefactors. This includes building relationships with the deans of the Notre Dame Law School and Mendoza College of Business and current giving society members. It also includes overseeing the strategic planning and execution of direct mail and digital marketing campaigns targeting new and existing donors, and collecting stories and producing storytelling materials through the website, newsletters, social media, and other materials.
  • Developing Objectives and Strategies - Establishing long-term goals and specifying data, metrics, timelines, and resources needed to achieve them. This includes analyzing and interpreting data and information from various sources. This also includes preparing reports and presentations to communicate updates to senior leadership.
  • Planning & Organizing - Plan and optimize our stewardship journey for benefactors. Influence experiences, events, and other opportunities they can take advantage of on campus.
  • Relate Well - Developing constructive and cooperative working with campus partners and Notre Dame Development fundraisers. Most importantly, these relationships should influence fundraising by identifying areas of opportunity and influencing the best ways to make a law or graduate business ask. These relationships should also provide additional avenues of engagement for Sorin Society members on campus.
  • Analytical Thinking - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Knowledge of data analysis and the ability to tell stories from data and information received.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is eligible for hybrid work and is based in South Bend, IN. This role is typically 40 hours/week but will require additional hours during home Notre Dame Football games and during our annual Day of Giving, Notre Dame Day. Travel is expected 2-3 times per year.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience in storytelling, marketing communications, and/or fundraising
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree
  • Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors
  • Demonstrated success in tracking and analyzing metrics and results
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Word
  • Success in achieving ambitious goals and metrics
