Job Description Summary
Serve as a member of the computing support team, assisting the Local Support Provider(s) with classroom technology calls, machine setups and deployments, basic technological questions, and computing projects.

Job Description

The Assistant IT Support Specialist position works under the direct supervision of the Local Support Provider(s) in its assigned areas.

Primary responsibilities include:
Responding to classroom support calls, troubleshooting problems, and assisting instructors in learning to use installed technology.

Preparing computers (Mac and PC) for deployment, according to SAS Computing processes, including provisioning/imaging machines, installing software, and delivering and setting up the machines on-site.

Preparing decommissioned gear for secure, responsible disposable. This includes physically collecting the items, labeling and inventorying them, and maintaining a neat and professional work environment.

Assisting LSPs in providing basic technical assistance to clients, in-person and via phone, Zoom, and a ticketing system.

Participating in computing projects as needed, under the direction of the Local Support Provider.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Excellent customer service skills

Good written/verbal communication skills

Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems

Ability to document work clearly and thoroughly
