The Institute of Contemporary Art seeks a part-time art handler to assist in the preparation and fabrication of art exhibitions and ensure the safety of works of art during installation. This position will move and install valuable art objects in various locations; pack and unpack objects; prepare gallery spaces, build custom display aids, and perform other miscellaneous art handling duties as required. Part-time art handlers report to the ICA Chief Preparator.

The selected candidate will have knowledge of construction, carpentry, art handling, and installation methods. Experience with hydraulic lifts is helpful. The selected candidate will demonstrate his/her ability to effectively interact with the art installation team with clear and generous communication.

ICA part-time art handlers earn $22-25/hr.
