Position Summary:
The assistant director manages and directs the fundraising and volunteer activity of a range of Puget Sound Alumni Class Community volunteers as well as Puget Sound Fund parent volunteers. The assistant director works with associates within university relations and across campus in order to achieve increased levels of expendable annual support from alumni, parents, and friends of the university. The assistant director oversees and directly contributes to the solicitation efforts for the Puget Sound Fund. The assistant director reports to the Director of Annual Giving.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
ALUMNI CLASS AGENT PROGRAM
Actively manage a full range of Puget Sound alumni classes. Recruit, orient, and support all volunteers within a class range as they seek to raise money for the Puget Sound Fund. Work with the committee's leadership as well as the leadership in each class to coordinate the class's fundraising and communications strategies. Establish preliminary dollar and participation goals for each class within assigned class range, identify top prospects, and develop class- and individual-based solicitation strategies. Prepare appropriate classes for entry into five-year reunion cycles well in advance of the reunion year itself. Personally visit to recruit and/or solicit alumni in the assigned class years.

PARENTS FUNDRAISING
Manage and direct parent giving to the Puget Sound Fund. Meet all parent goals for the Puget Sound Fund. Manage the Puget Sound Fund Parent Committee Chair and associated volunteer efforts. Work with volunteers to solicit all eligible current and past parents. In conjunction with the Associate Director and Director of Annual Giving, develop and prepare all Puget Sound Fund Parent Committee materials. Assist with the identification of Puget Sound Fund Parent Committee leaders and Parents Council Executive Committee volunteers Work with the assistant director of alumni and parent relations to coordinate the activities of the Puget Sound Fund Parent Committee members and the Parents Council Executive Committee.

OTHER
Achieve annual personal visit, recruitment, and solicitation goals while making a minimum of 60 leadership-level solicitation calls annually. Create tactical plans and develop annual goals and objectives for assigned fundraising programs. Provide assistance, as appropriate, in developing computerized reports and forms needed to support assigned fundraising programs. Participate in other annual giving and university relations activities as requested or required including, but not limited to, attendance at university functions and personal solicitation of donors. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving, including other areas of volunteer management as needed.

Qualifications:
The ability to work independently, solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations; Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills; Strong organizational and planning skills for balancing multiple projects and tasks; The ability to work and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a broad range of internal and external constituents including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the college; Strong analytical and technical aptitude with attention to detail; Working knowledge of computers and computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel as well as constituent relations software such as Millennium Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.

Compensation and Benefits : The anticipated pay for this position is $50,000 - $ 53,000 annually. Final decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
