Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Serves as Learning Specialist reporting to the Director of Enrichment Services. Work in conjunction with academic advisors to assist student-athletes with various needs as they relate to academics. Primary purpose is to advise and assist a specific segment of students in need of additional support services, to include at-risk, under prepared or learning-disabled individuals. Learning Specialists advise on course selection and assist with academic preparation based on each individual student-athlete’s strength and needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Collegiate experience is strongly preferred; experience with student-athletes is highly desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to work with a diverse student-athlete population and communicate effectively with students, professors, peers and parents. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to prioritize work tasks and handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
