OVERVIEW

Overview

The Department of Ethics and Business Law in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas, in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, in the area of business law and compliance, beginning in September 2024.  Candidates should demonstrate potential for strong research, excellence in teaching, and desire to engage in culturally responsive service activities that demonstrate their commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

 

The department’s faculty are specialists in ethics, business law, and compliance including research and teaching at their intersection. Our faculty teach core and specialized courses in all OCB programs, including a specialized undergraduate Law & Compliance major and graduate programs in Organizational Ethics and Compliance. The Opus College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. The college offers undergraduate, part-time, and specialized MBA, specialized Masters, and graduate certificate programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited Law School, or alternatively, Ph.D. in law or a closely related field.
  • Expertise in compliance [minimum two years experience in compliance] and ability to teach core and elective legal compliance courses and other business law courses.
  • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience [minimum one academic quarter or semester], with demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching excellence.
  • A strong research agenda with potential to publish high-quality law reviews and peer reviewed journals.
  • A commitment to engaging in service to the Ethics and Business Law Department, the Opus College of Business, and the University of St. Thomas.
