The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position Administrative Support Assistant II in the Student Counseling Center. This is a non-exempt, 10-month, full-time; non-tenure track staff position. This position is a 12 month limited duration appointment (LDA). While this position may be renewed, it is not guaranteed.
Student Counseling Center is the university’s primary facility for personal counseling, psychotherapy, and mental health outreach and consultation services. The mission is to promote the psychological, educational, and social well-being of the students at the University of Tennessee and to help prepare them to be productive members of a global society. The Administrative Support Assistant must be able to greet the many students seeking services at the SCC with efficiency, warmth, and care, while creating and maintaining back-office processes that support the clinical services of the center.
The Position: This position assists the clinical and administration staff in the Student Counseling Center and other wellness units by acting as the receptionist for students coming to the center to access services and completing other support activities as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of the center. This position frequently handles highly confidential/sensitive information and maintain clinical staff scheduling.

- Ability to multi-task and be efficient in a high-paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Calm demeanor when interacting with individuals in acute distress
- Ability to manage sensitive material and maintain strict confidentiality
- Knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems, as well as Microsoft office suite

Experience:
- Experience with electronic health records (i.e. Titanium; MediCat, etc);
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of office practices in counseling and/or medical offices.
