Scope: Responsible for contributing to Business Affairs' multimedia strategy and executing that strategy through the creation and delivery of multimedia content that supports and elevates the division's brand, reputation, and messaging.
Core Responsibilities
- Produces and delivers compelling videography, photography, and editorial content, within prescribed deadlines, to support Business Affairs communications, web pages, and projects as assigned.
- Interacts with divisional and university stakeholders to identify video/photography/project ideas and collect the necessary information to complete assignments.
- Creates comprehensive videography and photography archives/resources for use by Business Affairs Strategic Communications and divisional stakeholders.
- Researches social media trends and best practices; proactively contributes to Business Affairs' social media strategy.
- Works closely with the communications section of our team, regularly creating and managing content on Business Affairs' official social media channels to elevate the division's reputation and storytelling.
- Partners with the web and communications sections of our team, help monitor, analyze, and report on web and social media engagement.
- Works closely with the Senior Director and other key members of our team, to develop engaging web content and other digital materials to enhance the Business Affairs web presence and to better tell our story through digital channels.
- Counsel divisional stakeholders on multimedia best practices and strategy.
- Attends events and activities as assigned for photography/videography needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Video Production, Graphic Design, English or a related field.
- Valid Class A driver's license.
- Two (2) years of video production, video journalism, or closely related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently to meet prescribed deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience with video and photography equipment and software.
- An understanding of organizational branding and its importance.
- Knowledge of Web, multimedia, and social media best practices and experience managing social media channels.
- Exceptional research, writing, and fact-checking skills.
- Creativity skills.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of video production, video journalism, or closely related experience.
- Experience at a broadcast news station or higher education institution.
- Experience in the development and implementation of web, photo, video and social media strategies, including the use of measurement and reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of desktop publishing, graphic design, and website maintenance software/tools. Bilingual in Spanish.
