Primary Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Athletics, the Assistant Director of Athletics for Business is responsible for the daily management and oversight of the Athletics Business Office.

Essential Functions:
Manage and supervise the Athletics Business Office.
Provide financial and administrative support to the Director of Athletics, Deputy Director of Athletics, and Athletics Department staff, including the preparation and submission of requested financial and accounting-related reports.
Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget.
Responsible for the processing and retention of all contracts, agreements, and MOUs involving the Department of Athletics.
Assist in the development of long-range financial plans for the Department of Athletics.
Coordinate with staff from the University Budget Office, to prepare financial statements and narrative reports. Provide resources and assistance to sports supervisors and coaches as applicable.
Take a leadership role and provide education on budgeting, finances, etc. to the Athletics Department, coaches, and staff.
Manage human resource functions for Pacific Athletics and serve as principal liaison with University Budget Office & University Human Resources.
Ensure the operations of the Athletics Business Office is in compliance with all NCAA, West Coast Conference, and University policies and procedures including Title IX compliance.
Serve in an administrative capacity for select home athletic contests as Administrator on Duty.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Deputy Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree.
Three (3) years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in business, finance, or accounting.
Advanced knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and practices.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex information to large and small groups.
Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft clear and concise professional reports and correspondence.
Strong organizational skills to work independently and prioritize workload under the pressure of competing assignments and dynamic deadlines.
Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office software.
Strong ability to develop reports and analyses.
Understanding of financial auditing techniques and standards.
Knowledge of financial aid, NCAA, and conference legislation.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking across campus, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Constant verbal and written communication. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work performed primarily in an office environment. Work performed during standard business hours. Work is also performed in sports facilities and during non-business hours on evenings and weekends. Occasional travel required.

Valid drivers license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the Universitys fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserve the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.

Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience, exempt
