Job Description:
The Exercise Physiologist delivers direct; quality patient care utilizing advanced clinical exercise physiology skills and knowledge for outpatients with cardiovascular disease. She/He develops; monitors and documents exercise prescriptions and progression of exercise prescriptions for patients with cardiovascular disease. She/He performs cardiopulmonary exercise tests on patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience/Licensing:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or other health-related field required.
- Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ability to obtain within one year of employment) required.
- 3-6 months experience in Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation required.
- Current American Heart Association CPR & BCLS certification required. May accept at time of hire only American Red Cross “CPR for Professional Rescuers”.
- American Heart Association ACLS certification, if not current at time of hire, will be required to obtain certification within the new hire probationary period.
