The LPN II is an integral part of the care team and a key contributor to delivering high quality care that is compassionate, consistent and reliable for our patients, families and the practices within a medical home. The incumbent is involved in direct patient care under the direction of a provider, provides technical nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness and performs clinical and administrative health care support services to patients and families according to knowledge, ability, and duties assigned.
ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION:The LPN II is an integral part of the UVMMC Employee Health team. The LPN II is a key contributor to delivering high quality care to new hires and volunteers coming to work for UVMMC. The role includes but is not limited to: accuracy in performing chart prep, conducting new hire screening, administering vaccines with knowledge of vaccine timelines and documenting medical activities accurately in the employee medical record. The role is also involved in quality projects and reports in accordance with the LPN professional scope of practice. The LPN II will provide cross- coverage for the Employee Health front desk, these responsibilities include working in collaboration with Human Resources, pulling medical forms, immunization records, etc. for chart prep, and answering blood borne pathogen and Employee Health phone lines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills, computer technical skills (Teams, Microsoft suite, etc.) and is able to work in a fast-paced department environment.
EDUCATION:Current LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. CPR certification required within the first six months from hire.
EXPERIENCE:One to two years' experience in relevant health care setting or training program desired. Primary Care experience preferred. Proven customer service experience required.
