    UW Medical Center - Northwest has an excellent opportunity for a full time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER (Registered Nurse 3) to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology Team.

    Our Obstetrics and Gynecology Team consists of 4 outpatient clinics, located in Ballard, Mill Creek, and 2 locations in North Seattle. Each clinic provides a full range of care, from wellness exams to pregnancy care to the latest in minimally invasive surgery. Our services also include family planning, nutritional counseling, management of menopausal issues, and screenings for early detection and treatment of gynecologic problems, including PCOS and endometriosis. We work with our patients to develop an individually-tailored care plan that considers their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.     SCHEDULE:
    40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, day shifts only. The exact work schedule may vary each week.

    The Assistant Nurse Manager will work at four sites: our Ballard Clinic, our Mill Creek Clinic, our outpatient clinic in North Seattle, and our outpatient clinic at the UW Medical Center-Northwest campus. Some travel between sites will be required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supervisory position reporting to the Health Services Manager. The Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for training and supervising staff, spearheading quality improvement initiatives, providing direct nursing care, and ensuring that safe patient care practices are followed.
  • Provides leadership for clinical and administrative functions at each clinic
  • Promotes effective communication among staff and patients
  • Identifies staff and resource problems and takes necessary steps towards a resolution
  • Leads the hiring processes for medical assistants and RNs
  • Implements and manages orientation and educational programs for staff
  • Schedules staff work hours
  • Resolves unplanned absences, following Ambulatory Services Resource Pool Protocols
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains work processes to ensure the clinics run successfully
  • Establishes and maintains safety and emergency protocols for the clinics
  • Provides expert nursing assessments, assists with phone triage, and educates patients and their families

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 years of inpatient or outpatient OB/GYN nursing experience
  • Previous charge, lead, or supervisory work experience in an OB/GYN setting
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous management-level experience in an OB/GYN setting
