Envision EHC is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) CHW focused efforts under the CARES act.

The funding is intended to address:
- Disparities in access to COVID-19 related services, such as testing, contact tracing, and immunization.
- Factors that increase risk of severe COVID-19 illness, such as chronic diseases, smoking, and pregnancy.
- Community needs that have been exacerbated by COVID-19, such as health and mental health care access and food insecurity.
The Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) group at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute in the School of Medicine and Public Health, partners with the WI Department of Health Services to provide leadership to Envision EHC. The Envision Center aims to enhance public health's capacity to train, deploy, and engage the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce and create a sustained structure that will continue to impact health equity long after this CDC project ends.
This outreach specialist position is part of the MATCH team at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The position is located at the University of Wisconsin and statewide travel is required.

Required
H.S. Diploma
High school diploma or equivalent. Specialization in Community Health Worker Workforce capacity building required. Ability to manage relationships with collaborators and subject matter experts.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
1. 5 years of experience working as a Community Health Worker engagement and collaboration. Experience working with community advisory boards preferred.
2. Experience building community capacity to advance health and health equity at the state or local level
3. Experience with CHW project planning and management.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong preference will be given to candidates with the following:
1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community leaders, Community Health Worker (CHWs), CHW experts and allies, diverse community partners and local and state public health professionals.
2. Experience in community leadership development
3. Knowledge of public health systems and systems change.
4. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills; including meeting, group and process facilitation and conflict mediation.
5. Experience engaging community advisory boards.
6. Demonstrated ability to think creatively, identify root causes, systems of influence and synthesize inter-disciplinary approaches to conceptualizing and addressing health equity work.
7. Experience with public health issue campaigns and/or community organizing and advocacy.
8. Fluency in Spanish is desired.
