What are the responsibilities and job description for the INCLUSION PROGRAM MANAGER position at University of Wisconsin–Madison?
This position will be responsible for overseeing student-focused diversity and inclusion efforts within the UW-Madison Computer Sciences Department and contributing to the larger diversity, equity and inclusion strategy for the department. The Inclusion Program Manager will focus on building an inclusive culture and increasing students sense of support and belonging through innovative, collaborative partnerships and high-impact programming; increasing representation in our department through outreach and engagement with underrepresented prospective students; delivering high-quality, evidence-based inclusive teaching training and resources; and providing key insights to advance departmental DEI strategy and goals.
- 45% Participates in the development, implementation, and execution of projects, programs, and committees to promote diversity and inclusion initiatives
- 20% Recommends strategies for addressing complex issues regarding diversity regulations, best practices, and policy interpretation
- 20% Directs the implementation and adherence to diversity policies and practices in a designated functional area, audits effectiveness, and makes recommendations for improvement
- 10% Develops and delivers events and workshops to institutional groups to promote diversity and inclusion initiatives
- 5% Oversee coordination and implementation of diversity and inclusion grants and data management
- Culture Building and Student Support - Identify and implement opportunities and evidence-based approaches to increase community and sense of belonging within CS, including collaborating with CS student organizations and other identified partners.
- Student Recruitment - Devise and implement new strategies and programs to recruit and engage prospective students from underrepresented identity groups including building partnerships, collaborating with campus units and hosting events.
- Diversity and Inclusion Training - Create and foster ongoing educational and cultural awareness programming and initiatives that promote diversity and belonging, especially through training of CS teaching assistants and peer mentors.
- Department Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy and Efforts - Provide evidence-based insights and suggestions to guide the strategic direction of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the department.
- Data collection, analysis and reporting - Monitor, track and assess key data points to assess effectiveness of diversity and inclusion efforts Data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Grants Management - Identify new opportunities and coordinate meetings, communications, and the fulfillment of deliverables for existing grants that support diversity and inclusion efforts

Required
Bachelor's Degree
A demonstrated involvement in advancing organizational diversity and inclusion efforts OR one year experience working with students in a support, advisory, or teaching/tutoring capacity. Candidates with both preferred.
