The Ralphe Lab seeks a Research Specialist to support studies focused on the functional impact of genetic mutation on cardiac biology. The lab uses mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cells, 3-dimensional engineered cardiac tissue constructs, and various molecular biology and biochemistry techniques to understand how genetic mutations impact cardiac function and lead to disease. This position will include working mouse breeding and handling, cell culture, DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, and protein analyses. The Research Specialist will be trained to perform and analyze experiments according to established research protocols and specifications of the lab, and will also be expected to assist in management of the lab with ordering, maintenance of equipment, organization, and inventory. Opportunity for exposure and acquisition of new skills in experimental cardiac physiology will be readily available.

The starting salary for the position is $45,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
