What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT SUCCESS COACH position at University of Wisconsin–Madison?
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Student Success, the Success Coach will join a team that supports holistic student growth and excellence for undergraduate students within the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). The Success Coach will provide coaching for students to help them overcome academic challenges, develop their academic skills, connect with campus and community resources, manage their time, set goals, and explore support systems for wellness and mental health. Primary responsibilities of the Success Coach include working directly with students in one-on-one and group settings to coach them through a high-touch support and advocacy model.
The Success Coach will work closely with the School of Business's Success Coaching team, including the Assistant Director of Student Success, another Student Success Coach, and a Graduate Project Assistant, as well as other members of the Student Success and Policy unit and the broader Undergraduate Program. The Success Coach will be foundational in building and growing this exciting student success program in collaboration with colleagues within the WSB and around campus to develop a framework to support individual student success. The Success Coach may also develop and facilitate workshops, drop-in services, and other support initiatives.
- 50% Serves as primary resource and referral source for students/clients in dealing with a crisis and/or mental health issues
- 15% Assesses needs of students/clients and provides or recommends interdisciplinary care
- 25% Creates, implements, coordinates, and monitors treatment plans to assist students/clients in meeting wellness goals
- 5% Documents all cases and accurately maintains records of cases discussed
- 5% Prepares reports based on documented data as needed

The availability of the Success Coach must align with student availability. Hours will vary between 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday, and may include occasional evening hours.
