Position Summary:
Oversees a building project from start to finish. Performs day-to-day construction phase management. Promotes completion of non-capital and capital projects by developing, monitoring, and managing project requirements. Reports to and receives guidance from construction leadership

    Receives project assignments from leadership and reviews with the project team and engages campus stakeholders.
    Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of the project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
    Ensures contractors comply with negotiated contract documents.
    Issues daily report, noncompliance notices, and cost issue log.
    Reviews preliminary and final plans and makes recommendations for improving engineering details and construction practicality.
    Oversees occupancy, turnover, and close-out process.
    Determines construction progress and resolves construction problems with project team.
    Discuss customer's goals and objectives for the project.
    Acts as a liaison between campus stakeholders, UW System, DFD, Design Team, and Construction Team.

Qualifications

Required:
    Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    At least two (2) years of construction Project Management experience.
    At least two (2) years of experience with reviewing and coordinating building design, construction documents, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
    At least two (2) years of experience preparing construction cost estimates, timeline, bid and construction contracts, in addition approve contract change orders.
    Experience with Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment, working with end user(s) determining interior space needs, including furniture layout and room finishes, selection, procurement, installation, punch list through to completion.
    Experience with construction contract administration that ensures compliance with design plans, specifications, and the approved budget.
    Experience with following software: AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe for design, drawings, and management of construction projects.
    Must have a valid WI driver’s license and be authorized to drive a University vehicle upon appointment.

Preferred:
    Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Interior Design or Equivalence / Combination of an Associate Degree and work experience will be considered.
    Experience with evaluating outside contractual facilities designers and review their work for compliance, accuracy and conformity to IBC, ADA and local codes.
    Experience completing final project inspections, punch lists and final project closeout documents.
    Additional work order maintenance applications, Auto CADD and Revit software a plus.
