JOB TITLE:
HR Generalist
JOB PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, interpret and apply Human Resources and University policies and procedures; assist the AVP of HR with special projects, as required. Perform professional-level human resources work and carry out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as talent acquisition, employee relations, classification & compensation, training & development, employee benefits, records management, and payroll.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide assistance to multiple HR areas.
Provide data validation, data entry and business process review and approvals in various HR systems. Assist in testing and troubleshooting of HCM business processes.
Provide high-level customer service by assisting employees and managers with various HR inquiries.
Provide guidance and input into the recommendations of changes in human resources procedures.
Review and approve multiple types of HCM transactions.
Maintain accurate human resources records.
Ensure duties are carried out in accordance with university policies, federal and state laws.
Perform research and analysis in support of the unit in order to resolve problems and/or issues and recommend solutions.
Perform cross-functional duties and/or support of other specialized HR positions.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as assigned.
Participate in specialized HR training and orientations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:
3 years' experience in any of the following: direct experience in areas human resources or payroll, experience aiding multiple areas of a division for success, and/or experience providing superb customer service
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience or training in cross-functional areas of human resources; demonstrated experience in employee relations, employee professional development or benefits preferred
Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures
Collaboration skills and demonstrated
ability to create a working environment of open communication and trust
Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Strong problem solving skills
Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
SHRM, HRCI or other related certification preferred
