JOB TITLE:
School of Energy Resources Student Ambassador
JOB PURPOSE:
Please note: School of Energy Resources Student Ambassadors must be declared in the Energy Resource Management and Development program and be full-time students.
The School of Energy Resources (SER) Student Ambassadors serve as leaders, role models, and supporters of the school to promote a positive public image. As representatives, they work with prospective students, current students, alumni, and the general public. Students selected as ambassadors have excellent opportunities to develop personal and social communication and leadership skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Ambassadors need to be willing to serve for the fall and spring semesters. We are hiring students to work during the summer session also.
Act as a liaison between current students, prospective students, alumni, and guests of the university
Raise awareness about degree and career opportunities within the school
Participate in prospective student recruitment including Campus Pass, Discovery Days, Showcase Saturday, Admitted Student Days, campus visits, and other events
Participate in the annual Wyoming State Science Fair as a judge
Complete bulk mailing projects to prospective students and employers
Participate in occasional calling campaigns
Act as a peer mentor providing career services to other ERMD students
Maintain social media and website materials
Retention of current students
Act as a liaison with the general public
Be an example to current students and prospective students
Participate in alumni-relation activities including UW Energy Day, Denver Energy Days, Houston Energy Days
Share student experiences with diverse audiences
Be willing to travel occasionally to represent SER at other events
Be available occasionally on Saturdays and in the evenings
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Skills and Requirements:
Strong communication skills
Willingness to learn and talk about SER’s programming in greater depth
Ability to conduct tours on multiple floors of the Energy Innovation Center and have a baseline knowledge of the layout of UW campus
Organized, prompt, and reliable
Enthusiastic and self-motivated
Ability to work under limited supervision and as a team
Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness to learn social media platforms and content management systems
COMPETENCIES:
UW student, sophomore or higher. Preferred ERMD student major.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: None
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the
University Vehicle Use Policy

Completion and passing of a background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
