We have an exciting full time opportunity available for you to join our team as an Athletic Trainer (ATC)/ Physicians Extender. This position is in our Somerset Office.
To qualify, you must be a state licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC). A minimum of one (1) year of previous Orthopedic Athletic Trainer (ATC) experience is preferred.
Responsibilities: The Athletic Trainer (ATC)/ Physicians Extender will assist the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in various aspects of patients’ medical treatment and care. The Athletic Trainer (ATC) will maintain the exam rooms and equipment and ensure the orderly flow of the physician’s patient schedule. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting area to the exam room; prepares patient for their examination or treatment; obtains pertinent medical information from patient
- Assist physician in the removal & application of casts, change dressings, remove staples & sutures, & ultrasound machines
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms; maintain clean treatment areas and exam rooms
- Responds to & triages incoming telephone calls; instructs patient and family regarding treatment
- Performs patient education, when appropriate
- Replenish supplies in stock rooms and pharmaceutical supplies and samples as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Keep medical records in accordance with procedures and forms
