San Diego Micro Mobility Operations Manager

Unlimited Biking seeks an energized, experienced Operations manager to help make Unlimited Biking the best bike company in the world.

The Operations manager will directly support the store managers in overseeing all aspects of assembly, maintenance, and repair of the largest bike fleet in North America. The Operations manager will manage the day-to-day operations of bike shops located throughout San Diego, as well as a field-based team, to ensure the success of the department. This position is based out of the Unlimited Biking office but will require regular presence at multiple stores around San Diego. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with a proven track record of analyzing complex data and several years of managing teams in a fast-paced operation.

About the Role

• Manage multiple locations that operate continuous shifts, 7 days a week, to ensure that bikes are returned to operation in good condition as quickly as possible

• Lead, motivate, develop, mentor, and manage a diverse team to success, including management and front-line operational staff

• Manage a team of Bike Mechanics, ensuring that bike inspection and repair goals are met and that field repairs are maximized

• Oversee the collection and utilization of failure and repair data to achieve continuous improvement in fleet reliability and cost-efficiency

• Help reorganize the repair process to effectively triage bike repairs to maximize shop throughput and take advantage of different mechanic skill levels and capacities

• Develop systems to predict and prevent common bike failures through design and operational changes

• Manage an inventory system for bicycle parts; work directly with Supply Chain managers to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner for bike fleet production

• Maintain and enhance quality control procedures for all aspects of the bike shop operation

• Coordinate large scale training evolutions to enforce standardization of repairs throughout all bike fleet locations
• Support ongoing recruitment, hiring and onboarding of staff

• Conduct regular and periodic staff feedback; recognize employees with exemplary performance and administer coaching and corrective action to employees for non-compliance when necessary

• Support and focus on the development of a management team with very diverse skillsets

• Follow safe work practices to create and maintain a safe working environment

• Maintain and uphold all Unlimited Biking policies and standards

You are technology proficient: Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and google suite; SQL, database and data visualization skills preferred You are flexible: understand that this role may require travel and working during off hours and weekends
