- The UNM Communication and Marketing Social Media Unit is looking for a Professional Intern capable of contributing to the operational planning and execution of ongoing new digital media content especially pertaining to social media for the flagship University of New Mexico social media platforms.
- The Professional Intern will work directly with the University Social Media Manager to maintain the content framework and the execution of UNM Social Media strategy tactics.
- This position reports to the University Social Media Manager and is a part of the University’s social media team. UCAM is represented by marketing, communications, web communications, and social media teams which operate in an integrated marketing communication model.
This is a 1 year term position with possible renewal and promotion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ideate and produce quality content to support UNM’s social media strategic goals
- Evaluates and evolves content creation workflow
- Reports on and assists in the management of the UNM community discourse on social media platforms alongside the University Social Media Manager
- Keeps up with current social media and digital media trends and evaluates whether these trends are consistent with established social media strategy
- Monitors mention of the institution or unit on social media sites including some weekend hours via mobile devices
- Manages and contributes to an evergreen digital content library
- Assists in the coordination the collection, compilation, and analysis of online sentiment and engagement data
- Identifies, creates, and captures shareable moments related to the UNM community
- Contributes to social media special projects and campaigns
- Assists the University Social Media Manager with various correspondence
- Maintains content related to new media on relevant unm.edu websites
- Works with other UNM units to identify unique experiences and feature Lobos digitally in an authentic way
