The Education Specialist will assist the Director of the Design and Planning Assistance Center (DPAC) in the School of Architecture and Planning with a variety of administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have on-call status and work on an as needed basis.
The Design and Planning Assistance Center is a research center within the School of Architecture and Planning. DPAC undertakes architectural design and planning projects related to community outreach as a learning opportunity for students enrolled in the architecture, planning, landscape architecture and historic preservation disciplines. Students obtain hands-on experience by working closely with faculty to realize the outreach projects and related sponsored research.
The Education Specialist will assist with planning and management of DPAC projects and personnel, including, but not limited to:
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in professional design and/or planning practice and project management. Additionally, experience as an instructor in architecture, planning, landscape architecture and/or historic preservation disciplines in an institution of higher education is preferred.
The School of Architecture and Planning is housed in George Pearl Hall, designed by renowned Architect Antoine Predock. George Pearl Hall is located on UNM’s main campus. DPAC Offices will be off-campus in the Predock Center for Research, located at 300 12th Street NW.
