About the Pediatrics Office of Education:

Our office exists within the Department of Pediatrics, which is part of the UNM School of Medicine. We are entrusted with the rewarding responsibility of working with faculty and learners to ensure the successful pediatric education of medical students and physicians at various levels of training. Five education programs are coordinated by our office and our staff is cross-trained to assist each other when needed. Additionally, we are part of a large, supportive network of other pediatric medical education coordinators nationwide.

About the program you would coordinate:

The Pediatrics Clerkship program trains medical students to care for babies and children through rotations in their third and fourth years of medical school. All third-year medical students at UNM are required to complete a six-week Pediatrics clerkship rotation. These rotations consist of up to 16 learners at a time and may include physician assistant students. Additionally, fourth-year medical students from UNM and elsewhere may choose to complete one or more four-week rotations in various pediatric subspecialties. We typically have up to five students on these rotations at once.
