The College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS) seeks applicants for the Non-Clinical Patient Navigator position to support the Comadre a Comadre (CAC) program. The mission of the program is to empower the lives of Hispanic/Latina women through advocacy, support, education, navigation, resources & research for breast health and breast cancer. https://comadre.unm.edu/index.html
Under indirect supervision of the Director, this position will:
- Provide patient navigation and follow-up for individuals who self-refer or are referred needing assistance with cancer screening, diagnostic and treatment medical appointments, low-cost or free screening mammograms, pap tests, cancer services, and access to a primary care physician or community clinic.
- Assist patients by navigating individuals to internal resources provided by the Program and external community or social agencies or community resources.
- Help patients navigate access and address barriers to care, serving as an advocate for patients.
