Upper School Math Teacher
2023/24 School Year:
The Unquowa School seeks a full-time middle school math teacher for the 2023-24 school year. The ideal candidate will be a nurturing, adaptable person who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of students and is enthusiastic about teaching and supervising collaboratively in a progressive, innovative environment. The successful candidate will have experience with teaching to a wide range of abilities as well as with extending curriculum to meet the needs of all students. In addition, he or she will have a commitment to our school’s mission and an interest in being involved in our community through participation in school-wide committees and activities.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in mathematics, a master’s in teaching and deep math knowledge
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience with middle schoolers but deep math knowledge and experience with middle schoolers is more important than a master’s.
- Experience with hands-on learning
- Clear understanding of differentiated instruction
- Effective oral and written communication with parents
- Commitment to professional development
- Experience using technology to enhance instruction
- A clear interest in being part of a community that is committed to diversity and inclusion
