Quality Control Manager

Located in Blue Mountain, MS, the Quality Control Manager promotes, develops, and oversees compliance with the plant quality system. Effectively assures compliance with customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement. Experience with minerals or clay manufacturing is an added plus!

Company will consider relocation to Blue Mountain / New Albany area.

What you will do

• Establish a clearly defined Quality Management System by developing quality assurance policies and procedures that ensure compliance with company standards
• Improve current systems and procedures in order to investigate failure modes and implement their corrective and preventative actions for product and process-related concerns
• Develop and maintain process controls and documentation
• Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks in a manufacturing environment, ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, executed, and evaluated, and that product modifications are investigated as required
• Resolve internal and external product quality issues
• Perform in-process Quality Control testing and finished product composite tests
• Conduct tests from current and prospective mining sites
• Collaborate with production and Management to resolve quality issues
• Prepare samples for customers and third-party testing
• Keep accurate documentation of statistical analysis
• Perform additional duties as required

What you need

• Minimum 5 years experience in quality management
• Experience working with compliance
• Previous experience in Quality Control preferred
• Understanding of clay processing and testing methods
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Strong knowledge of mathematics, data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to work alone and be a self-starter with minimal management oversight; self-motivated
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels in the Company
• Willingness to actively carry out responsibilities, hands-on manager
• Demonstrated ability to generate thorough and comprehensive service reports
• Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office
