The Magee Obstetric Maternal & Infant Database and Biobank provides researchers with data and samples to perform groundbreaking research.
This position will work a daylight flexible hybrid schedule. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

The Data Analyst implements, analyzes and evaluates the data and data sources which will become an integral part of the Department's specific Database and other clinical databases. Collaborates with staff investigators to design, implement and establish entry and retrieval database programs for clinical research projects.

The Data Analyst implements, analyzes and evaluates the data and data sources which will become an integral part of the Department's specific Database and other clinical databases. Collaborates with staff investigators to design, implement and establish entry and retrieval database programs for clinical research projects.
Responsibilities:
- Review data manually and electronically for accuracy and completeness.
- Design database collection forms for data entry, retrieval, and analysis using data from external clinical centers using various electronic databases.
- Perform data queries and preliminary descriptive statistical analysis of data by formatting fields, labeling variables and categories, and documenting the steps. Report finding to investigators.
- Provide technical direction and assistance to investigators & staff in developing and maintaining their databases.
- Follow all HIPAA requirements regarding database management and will function as Honest Broker for all required studies.
- Collect, scan, maintain and distribute the research data . Upload data from external and research sources to various database(s).
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in life sciences, information systems, health administration, epidemiology, or biostatistics.
- Two years of experience in a professional or business office setting with extensive computer database design, entry and retrieval programs.
- Experience with computer database design, entry and retrieval programs preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical software used on both mainframe and PC environments such as Minitab, SPSS, SAS and/or BMDP.
- Ability to independently learn new software applications as they become essential to performance of work.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of database design and implementation.
