The Driver will deliver and pick up materials and clients at locations throughout the service area and this will be done in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance. This position is respobsible for delivery routes specific to UPMC Western Maryland Hospital and other off-site locations. The Driver will work 3:30pm to 7:30pm with occasioanl weekend coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Assist staff during outings and related activities as assigned by Supervisor when needed. Assist in planning daily van schedules.
- Purchase gas, oil and clean and wash vans as specified in procedure. Maintain a safe driving record.
- Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties. Maintain and protect patient, client and Agency confidentiality.
- Report inappropriate client behavior to management. Maintain a comfortable, safe atmosphere on the van while transporting clients.
- Participate in Agency committees as requested. Work to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to internal/external customers. Demonstrate support of Agency mission and philosophy in delivery of services.
- Assist clients in and out of van, maintain a friendly, courteous and patient attitude. Record mileage, location stops and time on Agency records on a daily basis. Complete monthly van reports.
- Deliver and pick up clients and/or mail at locations throughout the service area. Deliver and transport clients and/or mail to assigned locations.
- Report schedule changes/problems to supervisor. Prepare and submit accurate Activity Reports as directed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred
- Previous van driving experience preferred
- Access to transportation with valid Pennsylvania driver's license and auto liability insurance
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Automotive Insurance
- Driver's License
