Job Posting for Manager, Transport - Harrisburg at UPMC
Purpose: Responsible for creating an optimal internal and external customer experience while managing all medical/surgical sterile and supply related functions, and patient transport. The responsibility entails operations and quality of service provided, employee development, operating and capital budget accountability and short/long-term planning.
Responsibilities:
Report on daily departmental activities and operational performance.
Ensure that all personnel are aware of hospital policies and procedures; enacts disciplinary procedures when appropriate.
Prepare monthly budget variance reports for Director which examine budgeted versus actual expenditures.
In conjunction with the Purchasing Department, develop and monitor equipment buying/renting issues. Monitors rental equipment and looks for ways to control or reduce costs.
Monitors, evaluates, and coaches job performance of direct reports. Interpret data and apply process changes to optimize department productivity.
Accomplished financial objectives by forecasting future needs; participation in budget development; evaluates expenditures.
Manages incoming requests and resolves issues with customer-focused orientation.
Recommend intra-departmental and department policies and procedures or operations. Act in a manner to promote optimal service management.
Conduct regular staff meetings and prepares minutes outlining the objectives and employee discussions for the Director's review.
Exhibits fiscal responsibility by preparing and submitting MRS biweekly with detailed explanation of variance.
Monitor the completion of employee time cards and associated documentation.
Ensure departments have equipment available when needed.
Monitors quality and customer service standards; interprets employee and patient satisfaction results; identifies strengths and opportunities and recommends improvements.
Maintain professional relationships with vendors who provide rental and purchased equipment.
Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets in all areas of responsibility.
