UPMC Chartwell is looking for a part time Operations Pharmacist to join their dedicated team!
You will perform specific activities as they relate to the preparation and distribution of parenteral admixtures and supplies to provide safe and effective home infusion therapy. Supervise pharmacy technicians during daily activities. Assist with picking products, assign equipment and accessories, and ensure timeliness of deliveries.
This is a part time position working variable daylight and evening shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Work with appropriate personnel to assure supplies and admixtures are ready for delivery as time commitments dictate.
- Make sure that work meets quality standards.
- Work with appropriate personnel to assure adequate inventory of items dispensed is present at all times.
- Maintain clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy by reviewing literature and attending in-services, seminars, and conferences.
- Fulfill the duties of the Pharmacy Technician when required.
- Understand and adhere to all applicable State, local and federal laws and/or regulations-company policies and procedures-external accreditation/review standards
- Review refrigerator, and shelve for non-dispensed medications and communicates findings to appropriate reimbursement and clinical staff.
- Ensure all appropriate auxiliary labels attached.
- Direct the work flow of technicians to assure timely production and appropriate time management of technical staff.
- Establish positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity.
- Pull, assign, stock equipment when needed.
- Assure compliance to all Sterile Product Suite Quality Control policies and procedures and professional standards (ASHP and USP).
- Record all clean room, admixture mistakes on waste log. Record all admixed, non-dispensed product which cannot be utilized on compounded waste log accomplished by batch record copy. Work with appropriate personnel to assure allocation of waste to appropriate account.
- Dispense from stock solution bottles and annotates controlled substance perpetual inventory with correct information.
- Assure timely printing and distribution of batch records/labels.
- Participate in orientation/training programs for new personnel and current staff.
- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with Chartwell's Core Values.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Check supply orders for accuracy in selection of individual products and quantities.
- Match admixed product to supply orders annotation pickslip with batch record number.
- Display a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
- Review batch record, select proper drug/solution, annotate batch record with lot numbers and prioritize admixtures compounding according to operational demand.
- Set high goals or standards of performance for self.
- Coordinate with other staff members when planning and organizing Pharmacy services.
- Show pride in work.
- Coordinate daily work schedule for Pharmacy Technicians.
- Assure complete and accurate paperwork and documentation for all controlled substances.
- Participate in Performance Improvement Program.
- Document batch records with correct product codes to assure accurate inventory control.
- Handle customer complaints in a fair and empathetic manner.
- Participate in inventory control process as key member to assure clean room compliance to procedures.
- Assure SPS is neat and clean to minimize risk of entry of particles into the clean room.
- Compare initial orders and changes in orders to Clinical Pharmacist prescription to verify accuracy of pickslip for delivery.
- Attend regular staff meetings to gather and disseminate information.
- Assure correct infusion control device is dispensed and programmed with patient orders.
- Print report, prescription records and prescription logs as it pertains to required operational flow policy and procedures and pharmacy regulations.
- Coordinate and prioritize preparations of therapies with operations staff.
- Assure product is packaged in temperature sensitive container and labels with patient name.
- Promote Chartwell Pennsylvania culture by providing quality, comprehensive services to all customers through a team approach.
- Participate in inventory control by placing products on order log when appropriate and/or inform warehouse assistant or Materials Management Supervisor.
- Check admixtures for accurate reconstitution, dosing, labeling, storage requirements.
