  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma
  • (GED) required.
  • At least 2 years ‘experience in Medical Physician billing, collections and/or reimbursement to include authorizations, charge entry, claim management, payment posting and accounts receivable required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting to maximize quality and efficiently of operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Tech savvy

Responsibilities

  • The Billing Specialist is responsible for assisting with the billing process for patients.
  • General duties include processing payments on behalf of patients and maintaining organized financial records to aid reporting and calculating bill totals by looking through previous financial statements.
  • Search each financial statement for any payment inconsistencies or errors.
  • Collaborate with patients, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
  • Create invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to patients.
  • Input payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into an individual account.
  • Find financial solutions for patients who may need payment assistance.
  • Inform patients of any missed or upcoming payment deadlines
  • Calculate and track various company financial statements.
  • Translate medical codes.
  • Performa all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.58 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
