Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is currently looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Health Care Assistant to join our diverse team in our Troy Health Center.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) career opportunity that is eligible for our generous benefits package!
Scheduled Shifts:
Monday: 8:00am-4:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am-5:00pm
Wednesday: 11:30am-7:30pm
Thursday: 11:30am-7:30pm
Friday: 9:00am- 5:00pm

Planned Parenthood takes pride in the quality, personalized, attentive care we provide to all our patients. Our Health Care Assistants are essential to ensuring every patient has a positive experience while in our Center. While our Health Care Assistants have a broad scope of responsibilities, some of the most critical include (but are not limited to):
- Prepares exam rooms
- Assists clinicians during medical sessions including documentation of appropriate activities
- Follows all guidelines to ensure sterilization of self and instruments
- Assists with analgesia and sedation, including ambulatory assistance and wheelchair assistance as needed
- Performs phlebotomy and completes laboratory requisitions appropriately
- Conducts pregnancy testing and options counseling
- Performs vital signs assessment
- Thoroughly and accurately completes required documentation
- Maintains patient charts and records in accordance with clinic standards and guidelines, assuring confidentiality of all records
- Able to interact with patients regarding specific health problems comfortably and professionally and initiate appropriate referrals as needed
- Works with the team to maintain cleanliness, maintenance and care to all areas of the health center to ensure patient comfort

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year work experience in a medical office environment required
- Prior experience in a customer service position preferred
- Experience working with insurance carriers/providers highly preferred.
- Must be proficient with computers
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records
- UHPP also requires flu vaccination for all employees. Exemptions will be made for medical reasons with documentation held in our HR office.
