What are the responsibilities and job description for the Croissant Baker position at Uppercrust?
Uppercrust, the premier bakery in North Florida, seeks a full-time baker!
You are our primary croissant baker. You will be trained primarily by kitchen managers and our absolutely dynamite croissant baker, Sarah. She's been a year and wants to cross train! They will set you up for success. The day is scheduled to be 8 hours on average once proficiency is reached! No baking or kitchen experience is necessary, but the following experience is helpful:
- Experience with commercial pastry decoration work
- Experience with commercial prep work
Far more important is who YOU are. We have trained many superb bakers. Conscientiousness, friendliness, and a desire to get better and faster at what you do every day unifies our team - they are also the qualities that stand out in new team members.
Benefits include:
- Free samples of product you haven't tried
- Free daily bread
- Free iced coffee
- Paid training
- Raises after assessments on kitchen stations
- Cross training
- Raises for length of time worked (every 3 months full time, 6 months part time)
- Paid time off vests after 250 days worked
- HSA-eligible contributions vest after 150 days worked
- Base wage starts at $12.50/hour - digital tips typically add $2.75/hour
- Full time work (40 hours) assured if desired
- Cash tips pooled weekly
- Corny, but a really good management team with fundamentally good people who won't yell or scream and genuinely want you to do well. This is a small business with individuals heavily invested in our success.
